Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary (16 Days)

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,354 m)

  • Meet at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to the hotel
  • Permit preparation and welcome briefing
  • Overnight stay in Kathmandu

Day 2: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation in Kathmandu

  • Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square
  • Finalise permits for the Manaslu trek (Restricted Area, MCAP, ACAP)
  • Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 3: Drive to Machha Khola (869 m) – 8 to 9 hrs

  • Scenic drive along the Budi Gandaki River, passing through Arughat and Soti Khola
  • Overnight stay in Machha Khola (teahouse)

Day 4: Trek to Jagat (1,340 m) – 6 to 7 hrs

  • Cross suspension bridges and pass through terraced fields
  • Enter the restricted zone at Jagat
  • Overnight in Jagat

Day 5: Trek to Deng (1,860 m) – 6 to 7 hrs

  • Continue through forest trails and rural settlements
  • Cross several hanging bridges
  • Overnight in Deng

Day 6: Trek to Namrung (2,630 m) – 6 to 7 hrs

  • Enter the Tibetan cultural region, with mani walls and prayer flags
  • Enjoy views of the Siringi Himal

Day 9: Acclimatisation Day in Samagaon

Day 10: Trek to Samdo (3,860 m) – 3 to 4 hrs

  • Trek through high alpine terrain above the tree line
  • Explore the Tibetan refugee village of Samdo
  • Overnight in Samdo

Day 11: Trek to Dharmasala/Larkya Phedi (4,460 m) – 4 to 5 hrs

  • Short, steady ascent to the base camp of Larkya Pass
  • Rest and acclimatisation
  • Overnight in Dharmasala (basic lodge)

Day 12: Cross Larkya La Pass (5,160 m) – Trek to Bimthang (3,720 m) – 8 to 9 hrs

  • Early start to cross Larkya La Pass
  • Stunning views of Himlung, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II
  • Long descent to Bimthang
  • Overnight in Bimthang

Day 13: Trek to Tilije (2,300 m) – 5 to 6 hrs

  • Descend through rhododendron forests and meadows
  • Pass through the villages of Gho and reach Tilije
  • Overnight in Tilije

Day 14: Trek to Dharapani – Drive to Besisahar – 6 hrs total

  • Merge with the Annapurna Circuit
  • Drive to Besisahar by jeep
  • Overnight in Besisahar

Day 15: Drive Back to Kathmandu – 6 to 7 hrs

  • Return via Prithvi Highway
  • Free evening in Thamel or local markets
